Convertibles, carvers and cheesecake. It's a tempting triple play in one of the most refreshing new exhibits at the modernized 2012 Miami International Auto Show. Only the cars will be topless, but the mix is magic. This brand new display gives manufacturers an opportunity to showcase their latest convertible models in America's best convertible country, the Sunshine State, just in time for our best convertible weather. The exhibit will depict a typical South Florida drop-top day - a causeway of palm trees and beaches with tropical waters dousing a lazy sunset. Professional models in bikinis will also be present to take photos and hand out beach balls to attendees. The Topless In Miami exhibit is modeled after the annual summer activity of the same name produced by the Southern Automotive Media Association (SAMA). The event allows regional automotive journalists to test drive and rank the best new convertibles. For the first time at the Miami International Auto Show, SAMA has recreated the Topless In Miami 11-car exhibit with winners inside the show room floor. The exhibit will feature the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster, the 500C Gucci Edition Fiat, and the XKR-S Italian Racing Jaguar, to name a few. To help enhance
the "Miami Beach" experience, five award-winning sand sculptors will also be
creating a massive 20-foot sculpture of the Miami skyline, complete with palm
trees, buildings and other iconic Miami images. The sand sculpture will
showcase the award-winning work by Fort Myers-based group The Sand Lovers,
owned by Bill and Marianne Knight, both professional sculptors since 2006. |
